National Disaster Response Force

  1. State EOC will deploy a hotline phone at the temporary Regional Response Centre at Thrissur for direct communication with NDRF

  2. NDRF shall appoint an officer (not below the rank of Head Constable) to State EOC for liaison on 24 x 7 duty on a shift basis.

  3. NDRF shall deploy 2 teams in addition to the two teams in Thrissur RRC

  4. In case of deployment of teams in Kerala, the Thrissur District Disaster Management Authority has to provide vehicles for movement of the teams. While deployed in a district, the concerned District Disaster Management Authority will provide logistic support, including fuel, boarding and lodging facilities to the NDRF teams.

  5. NDRF will not respond to in-sea accidents.

  6. The NDRF shall be in ready state to deploy not less than 28 teams for immediate response to Kerala within 24 hours of notice. The major disasters that NDRF may have to respond are given below, district wise.

  7. All teams shall have enough number of boats for immediate deployment

  8. NDRF may establish a Regional Response Reserve stock for Kerala at Thrissur in Thalasserry Village of Thalappalli Taluk in the building kept in the custody of Thasildar which earlier housed the Seismographs.
